Why the world needs the netsukuku's civic net?\\Let's see.\end{center}
\end{abstract}

\begin{center}
Cities and Institutions are showing a growing interest in e-government
projects that are targetted in providing on line services to the citizens
through Internet.
For example, the following are candidates for such projects:\linebreak
        \begin{footnotesize}- School related activities (enrolments, cultural and educational programs).        \end{footnotesize}\linebreak
        \begin{footnotesize}- News, local radio and televisions.                                            \end{footnotesize}\linebreak
        \begin{footnotesize}- Guides for expositions and events, cultural and tourist information.                                                                            \end{footnotesize}\linebreak
        \begin{footnotesize}- Discussion forums, social and cultural activities.                                                            \end{footnotesize}\linebreak\linebreak

Unfortunately, the diffusion and access to the net isn't still disposable for
everyone: DSL facilities aren't available in many cities and, plus, ISPs tend
to impose expensive rates/costs to grant connectivity.\linebreak
Creating the netsukuku civic net so, means that everyone can have \textbf{free} access to web sites
and to online services, surfing web sites devoted to institutional, educational,
tourist, commercial and social activities; all this, freely and without any cost.\linebreak
The netsukuku civic net can do that.

Netsukuku's first goal is the implementation of a global mesh network, completely
independent from the Internet (even if compatible with), where single PC's communicating each other
through radio frequencies will become automatically integral part of
the net; giving in such way contribution to sustain, to keep it alive.\linebreak\linebreak
The more the nodes, the more the net will expand.                                                 \end{center}
\pagebreak
\begin{center}
Netsukuku's special routing system allows:\linebreak\linebreak

\textbf{- First: every node to require very very few hardware resources.}

- Every user to go not only through the Net of their city but also through
  those located in all the other cities which, once they are interconnected,
  create a special kind of global Network, parallel and joined to Internet, that will
  indefinitely keep in expansion, completely without the support of any ISP.

- Practically everyone can join it. Everyone who has any network device can join to it,
without having to rely on ISPs.

- 256 (max) hostnames to be recorded and supported by each node.

On the Netsukuku network, everyone wishing to offer digital contents/informations,
will be able to share them directly from his PC. The more participants are
part of the network, the more they can be granted with circulation of different
ideas and dialogues, democratic processes and the full right of citizenship inside
the information society.\linebreak

Last but not least, users will have the possibility to reach the Internet too, by sharing their Internet connection.\linebreak
Users will be able to get Internet access, exploiting the available bandwidth of each node; like a single, large Internet connection.                                                                             \end{center}
